This lodge sits on 156 acres of diverse habitat as well as 2 miles of water frontage on Lake Winyah at the confluence of 2 large rivers as well as many bayous and creeks. The lodge has been extensively updated and remodeled over the last several years and sits in a beautiful protective cove surrounded by nature. The acreage is level, wooded, and adjoins state land. The property goes from high and dry hardwoods and pines to thick alders and pines to bayou and diverse wetland habitat. The owner has planted over 120 apple trees in the last several years. The property has good white tail and bear. The property also has some amazing duck habitat. This is the most grouse I have seen on a property in the Lower Peninsula. I have also encountered woodcock here. The lake is 1530 acres and is mostly shallow outside of the river channels and near the damn. The whole lake is excellent fishing and has been stocked with Muskie and Walleye regularly. This could be one of the most under appreciated fishing lakes in the Lower Peninsula. The property sits where the North and Main Branches of the Thunder Bay River come together allowing for boating or paddling up either river. This is an excellent multi-species and multi-sport camp. in addition to the lodge there is also a small trappers cabin in functional condition and an RV hookup.
